For one week, the future Wiesencafé on Wittenberger Weg in Düsseldorf-Garath has had temporary walls. During that, the already existing platform was transformed into a 1:1 simulation of the planned building.
This outlook on the future Wiesencafé has been made possible by the guest artist and scholarship holder of the Zentrum für Peripherie, Adina Bar-On, who in May made her first guest appearance in Germany. The Israeli pioneer of performance art gave a workshop on site at Wittenberger Weg during the week of 30 May to 3 June 2022. Together with children and young people from the Alfred Herrhausen School and the neighbourhood on Wittenberger Weg, as well as students from three universities, she set up the filigree walls every day to be taken down in the evening. The ephemeral installation also gave an idea of what the café will look like once the building is made of loam walls.

In the early 1970s, Adina Bar-On developed her first performances while studying at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Performance as an artistic medium was still unknown in Israel at that time. Adina Bar-On was asked to return to painting and had to undergo a psychological examination in order to continue studying. These experiences were the starting point for the artist to develop her own form of teaching. Since then, Adina Bar-On has taught for more than 40 years in Israel and internationally. Her teaching is an essential part of her artistic work. She also gave her lectures in Münster and Düsseldorf in May and June 2022.
